Summertime Stuff

Hi, this is Andrea, the creator behind SoapMamaLamb.

I'm really enjoying being a vendor this summer at the Brooktondale Farmer's Market (Thursday evenings from 4-7pm). The best part is talking with people face to face (albeit through a mask!) and getting to know them. It's also a great way to find out what everyone likes and doesn't like at my table!

People are definitely drawn to the rugged black walnut soap dishes made by my friend Patrick Hunter (look for him under Hunter's Elements on facebook to buy from him directly. He LOVES to make custom pieces for people with locally sourced wood!)

"Summertime" is probably MY favorite soap to look at, because it kind of looks like a (square) piece of watermelon, and has a fruity watermelon-lemonade scent! All of my soaps contain organic, unrefined shea butter. This stuff is amazing and ethically sourced, and I love what it does in the soap. I also add in Ithaca Yogurt, maple syrup from my friend at Sapwood, and apple cider vinegar! Weird, huh? But it makes the soap creamy and moisturizing.

Will you have a chance to get away this summer? Even with all of the COVID safety measures, and restrictions, I still have some friends who are going to try. I make useful washcloth soap savers that you can bring along. One of my regular soaps cut in half will fit in a soap saver perfectly, and then you can bring your own soap when you travel. There's a little natural twine loop so that you can hang it up in the shower.

I LOVE lip balm, and I'm always misplacing it, so I need to have them around in different places. I keep one in my purse, one in my van, and one at home (at least). My preference is lip balm made with essential oils, and my favorites are sweet orange, and peppermint, so of course I made some. Cocoa butter and shea butter give it a silky smooth consistency, plus those butters are great for your lips. Yum.

Stay cool, and have a great week!
